    About us:

Question: Do you love Earth? Next question: Do you feel like you want to play a part in making sure that Earth will be here in the future? If you said yes, then come work with us at Ygrene Energy Fund! Our mission as a company is to ensure that tomorrow continues to exist by enabling your neighbors, co-workers, friends and family to make smart, future-focused, and energy-efficient improvements to their homes and businesses. We operate in a niche of the financial services industry that allows us the unique opportunity to directly impact the climate of the world around us in big ways. In our short 8 years as a company, we’ve managed to help Americans save 6 Trillion gallons of water, 9 Trillion kWh of power, remove almost 2 Million metric tons of CO2 from the air, and provide over 20,000 people with jobs. And we’re just getting started.

    About our stack:

We were born in the cloud (AWS to be specific) about 8 years ago. We operate a microservices architecture running atop a Kubernetes cluster battle-hardened with ultra rigorous security standards enforced at the source code, Docker container, cluster, and cloud level. Unlike most finance companies, we ship code all-day every day, and as such our CI/CD/CH (continuous hacking) pipeline from Atlassian (Bamboo) is mission-critical infrastructure. We run multiple languages in our services today (Ruby, Scala, Java, Javascript, Go) and leverage almost available AWS service (even AWS Sagemaker) and open source tool (Kubernetes, Istio, Notary, Docker…) to help Ygreners and our customers do their jobs well.

    About our team:

We are a passionate group of full-time software engineers from everywhere on the planet, and we’re supported by an amazing group of contractors, project managers, leaders, information technologists, and business intelligence folks in other parts of our business. The sun never sets on Ygrene development and we love that. Our engineers have gone around the world to speak at conferences about the amazing technology they build on a daily basis, and they have a passion to not just do the job well, but do it in such a way that no one else ever has to do it the hard way again by open-sourcing the tools they make. Our DevOps department consists of 2.5 people who help build tools, pipelines, infrastructure, and deployments that enable engineers to be more efficient with the time they spend at Ygrene. Which is where you come in.
