The Solar Deal Desk Manager will be responsible for the company’s solar sales – increasing solar sales throughput, improving design/build accuracy, reducing cancellations and assisting the solar sales and installation teams provide a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Closing deals on the phone with residential solar customers
  • Design, implement and scale a Solar Deal Desk function for future growth
  • Set and meet origination volume goals for the Solar Deal Desk team
  • Subject matter expert in PV system sales estimation using Sighten (or any other solar sales origination tool)
  • Managing, training and guiding the Solar Deal Desk team
  • Schedule staff and assign work to ensure work deadlines are met.
  • Recruit, select, train, and provide leadership and performance feedback for direct reports.
  • Recommend wage adjustments, staffing and work assignments.
  • Conduct regular staff and coaching meetings with direct reports.
  • Establish goals and work plans consistent with organization needs and monitor progress.
  • Attend internal and external management meetings
  • Identifying areas of improvement and process efficiencies and developing scalable, efficient processes and systems
  • Coordinate with training teams to reinforce training concepts with sales, operations and contractors
  • Determine, report and evaluate team KPIs
  • Periodically review installation issue with the installation team and implement changes to eliminate issues resulting from pre-sale PV system design
  • Proactively assist sales, operation and contractors to overcome process and documentation roadblocks

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of residential solar sales experience
  • 1+ year(s) of solar operations, or residential roofing/design experience
  • Prior experience designing, implementing and scaling a residential Solar Deal Desk function is a big plus
  • 2+ years of phone sales experience
  • Advanced level experience with residential PV design is highly desirable
  • Previous experience working in the financial services industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of solar operations and/or residential roofing/design.
  • Knowledge of phone sales best practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities
  • Must have sound judgement and solid decision making skills
  • Ability to understand financial concepts, models and the potential impact of sales/operations on investments and financial results
  • Ability to define issues, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and develop sound conclusions
  • Proficient with the use of share screen software such as GoToMeeting and WebEx
