The Government Relations Manager position requires the acquisition of new jurisdictions and the management of jurisdictions (cities and counties) where Ygrene has already been approved. Core functions include: building meaningful relationships, providing day-to-day support, reporting/presenting to council, supporting community events, arranging media events, press releases, cross selling into adjacent jurisdictions to create new opportunities to enhance Ygrene’s business. This position requires one to act as the outward facing conduit to other PACE and non-PACE entities such as California State Association of Counties (CSAC) League of California Cities (LOCC) Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) Golden State Finance Authority (GSFA) California Association of Realtors (CAR) and others.

Responsibilities

  • Work with staff to ensure resolutions are placed on agenda and are voted on by councils and boards
  • Developing and delivering reports to elected officials and staff
  • Managing relationships with elected officials and city/county staff
  • Focusing on developing strong relationships with key decision makers within organizations.
  • Ensure continued relationships with government partners during and following a project.
  • Assist in the creation of events that support jurisdictional initiatives
  • Demonstrate high level of energy and professionalism working with internal and external networks. 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required; public policy major or coursework a plus
  • In-depth understanding of local government operations, policy and protocol
  • Strong sales and support background with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Business Development and or Government Relations role
  • Background/experience with energy projects or policy and/or local economic development a plus
  • Must have the ability to confidently interact with senior management and executives
  • You should be competitive, self-motivated individual with a desire to win
